The California Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) has awarded the Center for Healthcare Organization and Innovation Research at UC Berkeley School of Public Health with a two-year grant of $860,000 to study the effectiveness of the Medical Interpreter Pilot Program (MIPP). This Project, led by Hector Rodriquez and co-investigator Timothy Brown, will evaluate if MIPP aids in reducing healthcare disparities and improves the quality of care among Media-Cal recipients with Limited English Proficiency. They expect that their findings will have influence on future DHCS interpreter programs.
